Weekly Maui Photo Tip - Maui Photographer Karma Hill

I get a lot of questions from my customers and other photographers about my best photography tips so I decided to post a Maui Photo Tip every week!
Today the Photo Tip is PERSPECTIVE.  That is, sometimes the difference between a GOOD photo and a GREAT photo is literally inches. Move to the left a few inches and you get a whole new view, go up on your tip toes or squat down to see what looks better. Don't be afraid to move around, get down and try new things!  This is a simple tip, but can sometimes be forgotten when you get busy shooting.  Sometimes I find myself standing in one position, happily clicking away when I have to remind myself, MOVE! Get high up above your subject, get down low to the ground, circle them, get creative and it will show in your work. Here is an example from my portrait session this morning.  The family was walking towards me, the first shot is where I had been standing, the second shot is after I squatted down.  This took the shot from OK, to OK!!

Have a great week, happy shooting!
