What do you get when you combine some of Maui's best wedding vendors, with two gorgeous people and a location that borders on magical? Well, you get this ridiculously beautiful inspiration shoot! I teamed up with Katy Roberts of Vows Maui to bring together a dream team to provide inspiration for what is possible for a wedding on Maui. Of course Maui is known for it's beautiful beaches, but just a few miles up the volcano sits an amazing property called the Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center with ancient monkeypod trees, the ruins of an old sugar mill and an epic estate that dates back to 1917. We wanted the setting to feel natural and dreamy, while still feeling exotic and far away. The gold and pastel color palette was where we started and then the vendors worked their magic! The Maile lei cake decor brought in Hawaii as did the table runner that was inspired by the traditional lei a groom wears. The floral also incorporated painted gold Ti leaves, that are usually present in all important Hawaiian ceremonies. The cake had beautiful gold leaf to follow with our theme and the watercolor paper for the menus and name cards was absolute art. The brides hair and makeup was whimsical and fun and looked perfect with the flowy gold Marchesa gown. The models are not just any models, they are actual newlyweds who were married just a few days before this shoot, so you can really see the emotion and love, which I think enhances everything! The setting on this historical property inspired me to edit the photos with a film feel, I love the classic look it gives them. I have to send out a HUGE thank you to all the vendors and the models Abby and Neil who all came together to create this sweet shoot. It was awesome to work with you all!
