This was a very special photo shoot, that I donated to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
The Children's Wish Foundation is dedicated to fulfilling a favorite wish for children afflicted with a high risk, life-threatening illness. The Foundation has been responsible for bringing a special moment of joy into the lives of over 19,000 children since its inception in 1984.
When they contacted me and told me Samantha's story I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of this young woman's journey. The photo shoot was for 15 year old Samantha from Ontario, Canada who was diagnosed in 2010 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
When Samantha was presented with the opportunity to have a wish granted by The Children’s Wish Foundation, she could have chosen almost anything in the world. Her wish was to go to Hawaii and have a photo shoot. She always wanted to be a model and loves being in front of the camera. Because of her treatments, she had lost her hair and went down to 62lbs. Samantha has completed her treatments and is doing much better, she has regained her hair and weight and wanted to do the photo shoot to make her feel gorgeous again. I had so much fun with Samantha and her family at Heritage gardens in Wailuku. The lush tropical setting was perfect for the fashion style shoot that Samantha wanted. She braved lizards and cold streams to get the shot, and her family was right there with her cheering her on! Mahalo to Samantha and her family I wish you continued good health and fun times as a family!!
