It's gorgeous evenings and beautiful families like these that make us love our jobs so much! The Corrigan family was such a joy to work with and combined with perfect lighting and the Hawaiian ocean they had a spectacular Maui sunset photo shoot. Their sweet daughter Mimi loved one of our Magic of Childhood portraits from a while back so we recreated a couple starfish shots for her as she laid in the sand. They turned out super adorable just like Mimi! It was a pleasure working with you Corrigan family! We hope to see you again in Maui soon!

Shades & Smiles - The Price Family's Maui Beach Portraits

They say a picture is 'worth a thousand words.' While that is undoubtedly true, they are more than that. It's about a feeling evoked, a memory forever captured. Our children grow up in the blink of an eye. We never know when it will be the last time they do that cute or silly thing they do, we never know when they will discover something new and move on. Parents Veronica and Gavin had a great approach to their Maui Beach Portraits. Instead of aiming for traditional poses, they wanted to focus on the natural and candid moments that inevitably arise with two young children. Whether it's Saskia's love of the beach because she can imagine herself as a mermaid, Baby Genevieve clapping along to "If You're Happy & You Know It," or just two little girls being their silly selves, these are the special moments we strive to freeze in time. They are a glimpse in to a day gone by and something to cherish. To the Price Family, we are honored to have been a part of this experience with you. First Time, Best Time - The Van Harpen Maui Family Portraits

What could be better than a beautiful day on a Hawaiian beach? Well, if you ask Luke here, he would say Minecraft. However, if you're not an eight year old boy, you may appreciate the stunning beauty of Baldwin beach on a crisp clear morning. We had the pleasure of meeting the Van Harpen's there for their first ever Maui Family Portraits...and their first family portraits period. We're honored!!! We should warn you, though, when you start with a place like Maui, it will be hard to settle for anything else. This family was so much fun and it was a joy to see Luke's silly side as he did what young boys do best...have fun!!! Beaming Boys and a Beautiful Beach - The Dolin Family's Maui Portraits

When you have lived somewhere like Hawaii, there's a connection to the islands you will always feel no matter where you end up. With Erin having lived here during college and Dustin having been born and raised in Kihei, it makes sense that they would want to share their love of the Magic Isle with their children. Traveling from Colorado as often as possible, the Dolins took the opportunity to have Maui Family Portraits taken in South Maui as a way to capture this moment in time. Now, all four of them will have lasting memories of Maui to carry with them forever. Meet the Sweet Schnell Family!

It was another beautiful morning at Baldwin Beach and staff photographer Ajja woke up ready to take full advantage of it. We try to beat the crowds because many other people have discovered our secret. Well maybe it's not much of a secret... Baldwin Beach is epic! She met the Schnell family there last week and had a blast with them taking their Maui family portraits... and 20th Anniversary portraits (Congrats Schnell's!). The Schnell's are a very sweet family from Ohio that loves to laugh and have fun with each other. They are very comfortable in front of the camera and just let Ajja do her thing and we are so happy with how their portraits turned out. Maui Family Portraits with the McEnerney's!

We had so much fun with the McEnerney family last week! Staff photographer Sasha met them at Olowalu which offered such a beautiful backdrop for these family portraits. We love the gorgeous mountain in the background and the bright blue ocean off the jetty. Although the location isn't directly on the beach there are a few palm trees that give it the real Hawaiian feel. We had a great time capturing your sweet personalities McEnerney family! Maui Family Portraits with the Hjertaas Family!

I met the Hjertaas Family on a bright and sunny morning at Baby beach in Lahaina.  This extended family was all vacationing together and thought it would be a good idea to get some fun Maui family portraits! I was so impressed with how well the kids did, they were happy to smile for the camera and the parents didn't even bribe them! I don't know what their parenting trick was, but I want to learn it! It was like working with professional child models! What a lovely morning spent with a lovely family. Just another day in paradise!

Legg Family Portraits Maui!!!

When you book your family portraits in Maui people rarely expect to get rain and wind, but sometimes it happens, and unfortunately we can't control that. Typically though we never reschedule a portrait until we absolutely know for certain that it isn't going to work. And this right here is the reason why.... The Legg family was patiently awaiting our call and we were hopefully watching the webcams and weather forecasts all day of this Maui portrait session. We made the call to continue as planned and we were so grateful we did! The weather cleared up just for us to create a beautiful Maui portrait for the Legg family. The clouds in the sky created gorgeous soft pastel colors that could not have coordinated any better with their apparel. It was a spectacular portrait session and we're so excited to share it with you! Mahalo Legg family for trusting us and being so patient. We hope you enjoyed your family portraits in Maui.

We met the Wheeler family last week for their Maui family portraits at gorgeous Southside beach!! The Wheelers were visiting all the way from Wyoming and wanted to document their first vacation to Maui with family portraits! Southside beach was beautiful and pastel this particular evening and the colors in the sky matched perfectly with the Wheeler's attire. Maui Family Portraits Preview - Welcome Back Sturgeon Family! - by Maui Photographer Karma Hill

I first met the Sturgeon family when I had the honor to photograph their daughter Nicole's wedding in 2012.  I was happy to hear they were coming back to Maui for some family portraits! Apparently it is a family tradition to come to Maui together every 2 years, and they were overdue! There were two new additions to the family since I saw them last, so I can say they have probably been pretty busy keeping up with the kiddos!  We got a gorgeous morning at Southside beach and it's a good thing a cloud rolled in because it was HOT!  It was so nice to see this adorable family again, I am so glad they chose me to be their Maui Family Portrait Photographer!
