We were so excited to welcome back the Frates Family! Escaping the Alaskan chill for some fun in the sun, they gathered on Southside Beach for their Maui Family Portraits. Adding to the excitement was a new addition in the form of a 19 month old ball of energy! Huge smiles and warm hearts made this group such a pleasure to work with again and we remembered exactly why we enjoyed them the last time! They don't come much nicer! We were so glad the day treated us well, including some always appreciated shade, as we spent the morning hanging out with this fabulous family from the last frontier. The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow - The Chase Family's Maui Portraits

A few days after we had the distinct pleasure of being a part of their Maui Wedding, we caught up with the Chase Family on a golden night. As baby Ezra's soulful eyes lit up the scene, we got to capture a Maui Family Portrait for this fabulous trio before they headed home to Florida. Though they received a little more "blessing" than one might like on their wedding day, we happily welcomed a gorgeous night for their portraits that allowed them to stay dry and smile as the sun sank in to the sea. Wearing the happy face of contentment that comes after tying the knot, this gorgeous bride and groom were smiles from ear to ear while their little one soaked up the sights. It was an incredible night and we're so glad we could make it happen for them. Jamie and Jacob, we can't thank you enough for letting our team in to your lives. It's been a pleasure. Wonder & Delight - The Paul Family's Maui Portraits

On a day with calm waters and clear skies, we had the pleasure of meeting the Paul Family. Though it was a celebration for her mom's birthday, one and half year old Cyra got the present of a lifetime in her first trip the Magic Isle. As with any toddler, we never know how their mood will evolve through the course of the session but this little cutie did so well. Those big milk chocolate colored eyes were mesmerized by the stunning surroundings and she couldn't have been more adorable. Thank you, Paul Family, for choosing the Karma Hill Photography team. Swaying Palms, Dancing Rainbow - The Ruffini's Maui Family Portraits

Nestled near the famous Front St., Baby Beach made for a stunning spot to meet the Ruffini Family. In town to celebrate a special birthday, they wanted to take advantage of the time together to capture much needed Maui Family Portraits. It had been years since they had professional photos taken so they were past due so it was wonderful that. The evening was beautiful as the dramatic clouds danced above the horizon. They even got a rainbow! Hey, when you haven't had photos taken in a while you might as well go big or go home. Birthday Songs and Big Laughs - The Sicat's Maui Family Portrait

What better way to ring a birthday than with a beautiful beach vacation. We were so happy to meet up with the Sicat family while they were celebrating love, life, family togetherness, and Cheryl's birthday. The good news is that we had a young man on hand that LOVES the birthday song so it is always a welcome serenade around Max. The only thing he loves more, I think, is when his dad is tossing him in the air. We had so much fun with this California crew and couldn't be happier they chose us for their Maui Family Portrait. Not only are they the nicest people, but they were naturals at being natural! Ha! It's so easy to get nervous and awkward when being photographed but the Sicat family were pros at just being themselves and ignoring the camera (when appropriate, of course). What a blast. A gorgeous spot like Baldwin Beach is always helpful too, as it reminds those in its presence that there's a reason it has been named one of the top ten most beautiful beaches on more than one occasion. Sixteen & Sweeter Than Ever - The Fernandez Family's Maui Portraits

As other Virginians wait for the spring thaw that chases away winter, the Fernandez Family enjoys their annual escape in search of warm weather. Exploring different tropical locations each year, we were thrilled to have them choose Hawaii for 2017. We were even more thrilled to have them choose our team for their Maui Family Portrait. What a spectacular time to capture as the stunning Stephanie turns sweet sixteen. Mom, Martha, also celebrates a birthday in the coming weeks (we're pretty sure its her 25th) so we had a double dose of birthday fun to capture. Two Families, Twice the Fun - The Raney & Hanson Families' Maui Portraits

I've said it before but I'll say it again, I LOVE return clients!!! There's something so special about watching families that I've had the pleasure of photographing grow up over the years. Back for their Kapalua Maui Family Portraits, the Raney and Hanson families are such a pleasure to be around. Returning year after year for their joint Spring Break escape, this was the sixth time that I got to work with these sweet people. Though hailing from my hometown in Washington State doesn't hurt, it's their kind hearts and huge smiles that make me look forward to this session each year. Magic at Heart - The DeMuth's Maui Family Portrait

There's a reason Maui is called the Magic Isle. She has a way of grabbing a hold of your heart and bewitching you with the wonders of the land. For the DeMuth family, our fair island will forever be a place of significance. Having first gotten engaged here, their love story took a big step along these golden shores. Then, two years ago, the next stage in their journey occurred as they married before a sparkling sea. After these tremendous milestones, it seems only fitting that their newest adventure, parenthood, should be captured in front of the crystal clear coast. Something to Celebrate - The Schaefer's Maui Family Portrait

Sometimes we are blown away by people. The spectacular Schaefer Family is no exception. Not only are the children the most well behaved kids you'll ever meet, this amazing family has the best attitude ever. When asked if they're celebrating anything on their holiday away from home, they responded with 'celebrating life!' That's the spirit! Life's Magical Moments - The Morrison's Maui Family Portrait

We had such a blast with the Morrison Family. As fellow parents of kids at the same pre-school, we can certainly relate to the adventure of raising two growing boys on this gorgeous island. Even so, I was still so honored when this amazing quartet chose Karma Hill Photography for their Maui Family Portrait. As any parent with multiple kids knows, when your first one is born, there is no shortage of photos documenting their every waking, and sometimes not-waking, movement. Once the second one comes along, you're so busy trying to figure out dinner, and diaper runs, and work, and how so much laundry can amass, and what that unidentified object stuck in your hair is that capturing your new precious angel's moments becomes a little harder. With that in mind, the Morrison Family wanted to take the opportunity to not only capture the family as a whole, but also get lots of shots of Baby Leo. That way, one day he won't be wondering why brother Miles has a plethora of photos in comparison to him. Thank you, Morrison Family, for letting me help in this endeavor. There's something so magical about Ironwoods Beach in the evening, we just love it. What better place than this spectacular spot for a Maui Family Portrait. That was the Jenson's thoughts exactly. Time to Smile - The Dolph's Maui Family Portrait

In anticipation of a milestone first birthday for Wesley, the Dolph Family gathered on Southside Beach to capture this precious time with their beloved boys. In truth, they had attempted a trip to Maui a few months ago but plane issues caused them to not even make it across the Pacific. After that, juggling work and school schedules meant having to be patient for the right time to make a second attempt. But alas, that time came and this sweet San Francisco finally got their retreat across the sea. We had the absolute pleasure of taking their Maui Family Portrait and freezing this special moment in time. What an honor. Wesley and Everett couldn't be any more darling and we were so touched by how warm this family was with one another. The Sweetest Love - The Wallace's Maui Family Portraits

Welcome back, Wallace Family! We absolutely adore this sweet trio and were thrilled they chose Karma Hill Photography again! We met Owen last year when he was still brand new to this adventure we call life. Luckily for him, he has two outstanding moms to show him the ropes! Sunshine at the Seashore - The Chhay's Maui Family Portraits

Under a bright blue sky, with the sun shining upon their faces, the Chhay Family strolled along the pristine Baldwin beach. This adventurous couple has had many amazing experiences throughout their travels all over, including helicoptering in to their wedding site atop a mountain in New Zealand. Despite all they've seen, perhaps one of the most precious times will be this one, when their perfect son met the ocean for the first time. What a cutie! Five and a half month old Connor is a happy little guy, especially when his mom's lovely voice treats him to the song 'You Are My Sunshine.' As their anniversary approaches in a few weeks, this adorable family enjoyed their inaugural trip to Hawaii as a celebration. Three Time's A Charm - The Lansing's Maui Family Portraits

Welcome back, Lansing Family!!! There is nothing more rewarding for a photographer than to have clients choose your services time after time. What an honor to document a family's journey through life, especially seeing the kids grow up. At the Lansing's first Maui Family Portraits in 2010, Jimmy was a fun loving six year old, fascinated by what the island had to offer. Birthday Wishes Along The Seashore - The Pen's Maui Family Portraits

On a gorgeous Hawaiian morning, we had the honor of capturing the Pen's Maui Family Portraits. This was a special trip for the California crew as they celebrated the two lovely ladies' birthdays. Three and..."Twenty-Three", respectively. There's no better way to ring in the special days as the fun foursome frolicked along the sand and surf. Big brother Brady showed no fear as he waded in to the frothy sea while sister Avery giggled with delight, playing with the cool white sand. Southside Beach put on a great display as the endless ocean sparkled beneath the fluffy cotton ball clouds. What a treat! Fun Loving Foursome - The Kaltio's Maui Family Portraits

On a beautiful pastel morning, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting up with the Kaltio Family for their Maui Family Portraits. For 20 month old twins Gus and Poppy, there was no greater draw then the big blue sea. Their proud daddies were kept on their toes wrangling the energetic duo as the surf called their names. The soft cloud cover provided the perfect natural filter so this Canadian foursome didn't have to battle the sun in their eyes, they just got to enjoy the family bonding time. Well Planned, Well Worth It - The Till's Maui Family Portraits

As any professional photographer will tell you, it's rare to be on the receiving end of the camera. That's what made the Maui Family Portrait for the Till Family so much more special. We had the distinct pleasure of capturing fellow artist, Alycia Till, and her beautiful family as they escaped a Canadian winter. They were so excited for the scarce opportunity for a family photo session that they planned their perfectly coordinated outfits months in advance. Of course, that may have had more to do with the fact summer apparel is not currently on display in Calgary but we like to think they just couldn't wait to come see us and our stunning island! ;o) Either way, we are certainly glad they came. Twenty month old Hope was a riot to witness on the beach. They don't come much sweeter than this little cutie pie with eyes that match the sky.
